Purpose information pages can contain any of the following categories of information:

  • It can document the organization's purpose- what for the organization exists. Usually purposes are not found stated in government documents (except a few constitutions). However government organizations are certainly not purposeless. This is a great space for government organizations and the communities they serve to evolve shared purposes or rediscover them! Pages with this information are tagged with [[Category:Purpose|Purpose]].
  • The organization's vision is a picture or image of the future it seeks to create for the community it serves. It says what the organization will have created once it is done. This space is great for organization and its community to create shared visions. Pages with vision information are tagged [[Category:Vision|Vision]].
  • The organization's mission can also be found here. A statement of what the organzation will do to get to where it wants to lead the community can serve as the source of inspiration for making a contribution, however small. It provides direction to action. While published mission statements may often be long and boring, the community often helps to discover a mission that can truly transofrm lives. Pages tagged with [[Category:Mission|Mission]] are a great way to use the community's wisdom to evolve a shared mission.
  • These pages can also try to capture information about the people who contributed to the organization. Such pages are tagged with [[Category:People|People]].
  • Pages which document the timline of events of the organization are tagged with [[Category:History|History]] .
  • Pages that state a short history of the organization are tagged [[Category:Timeline|Timeline]].
