I propose a new giki homepage (prototype shown below) to replace the existing plain-vanilla search. A homepage like the prototype will improve usability and navigation of the giki.
Comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome. Mcurie 17:30, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like an interesting idea, can you implement this scheme for the Pune home page to see how it works? --Anupam 03:33, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Anupam :-) thanks. What about the 'government' in the mast head? Sanskriti 16:05, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Sanskriti
Anupam - shouldn't this wiki be called 'governance' wiki rather than 'government' wiki? Sanskriti 03:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Sanskriti

The status of Baner Road Edit
This is in connection with the road construction work (or lack of it!) on Baner Road, spanning the stretch between Green Park Hotel and Sadanand Hotel near the Mumbai Bangalore Highway. Apparently the road "work" was taken up as a run up to the CYG games to be held in Balewadi in October 2008. It was clear to the general public from the time that this "work" began (sometime in March 2008) that this was a futile attempt and in no way was going to be completed in time for the games. However, the authorities in charge of this "work" embarked on this adventure defying all logic and common sense. Mr. Suresh Kalmadi then proved the general public right in issuing a statement in Pune Mirror in early September 2008 stating that the completion of this "work" is practically ruled out for the CYG deadline. In light of this and what is visible as the ground reality (the pun is intentional as all we see is ground all around Baner Road and no roads)the residents here would like to understand what is the status of this road and when is it going to be functional in terms of it being motorable thus preventing the people from wasting precious fuel and time and from getting stressed out while travelling across this road.
